What is it like to get married at Peckforton Castle ?
This is a question we are asked frequently. Here are some answers with the help of our Peckforton Castle wedding photography.
An English heritage grade 1 listed building from 1851, Peckforton Castle is a very popular and prestigious wedding venue in Cheshire. The business is owned and run by the Naylor family since 2006. Peckforton Castle was one of the very first wedding venues in the UK to be awarded a license for civil ceremonies back in 2001. Today it boasts the AA rosettes restaurant 1851, 48 luxurious bedrooms and outdoor activities like Falconry, off road land rover experiences and the Sandstone trail all within the surrounding 4,000 acre forest.
Got a date ?…. Yes ? OK have another too…and one more just in case,
One of the first things I would suggest is get a wedding date sorted. If you really have your heart set on a Peckforton Castle wedding, then have a couple of reserve dates in case the castle is already booked. Next you need to go and have a look around and speak to the wedding team.
Get some money…..and a spreadsheet
Your wedding venue, food, drinks and entertainment will be the largest part of your budget. Following close behind will be event styling, floristry, photography, dresses, suits, shoes …… the list will be very long. Hiring a prestigious wedding venue and styling it, will impact on your budget, but what you shouldn’t do, is sacrifice other suppliers you like. Make sensible decisions. There are the must haves and the nice to haves. Eliminating the nice to haves helps the budget and to be honest, nobody hardly notices that stuff anyway. This wedding will be the best day of your lives. Your wedding day with family and friends will be a major event in the social history of your family. Organise the budget so it is primarily spent on this. Look beautiful, celebrate your love and have a damn fine party. Have great pictures to remember it all. Do you really need Hen and Stag parties for a week each in Ibiza or Dubai ? How about just one best man and and a couple of bridesmaids ? All of these things eat into your hard earned money. Most of your suppliers have been wedding professionals for a long time, they all see a great deal of wasted expense …… ask for opinions and advice, we’ve saved couples hundreds of pounds with tips and tricks we’ve seen over the years.
Here’s something thought provoking !
The people that will love your wedding pictures the most, probably haven’t been born yet ! It is a cliché, but after the day has long gone, you’ll be left with a spouse, two rings and your own memories. Make sure you have the best record of those memories for yourselves, your kids and the grandkids. The older you become, the memories become a little more faded. The pictures however, become more precious and valued. We’ve all heard the horror stories of trusting the family friend, uncle bob or weddinpiccies4U to do the snaps ….Don’t take a chance on being lucky. Peckforton deserves professional photography
Right, lets have look at Peckers shall we …….. Red sandstone walls

The Lodge ….. As you turn into the castle grounds you’ll pass the lodge. Available for private hire, it has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, lounge, kitchen, dining room. There is a garden and BBQ too for the summer months. Good choice for the bride and bridesmaids as there is a separate make up area, or of course they can use the Spa and beauty retreat.
The castle …..The drive meanders up through the forest. The anticipation of catching a glimpse of the castle is almost palpable. As you pass through the gate house
there she stands across the green in all her glory.
The guardians of peacocks, doves and wood sculptured knights make a medieval welcome alongside the fluttering flags and pendants.
